Todos Santos, Baja California Sur – Los Colibris Casitas is honored to join Kind Traveler’s Every Stay Gives Back community impact program, empowering positive impact to local communities with every guest stay. Los Colibris Casitas is collaborating with Alianza Cero Basura (Zero Waste Alliance – ACB) to facilitate positive impact in its local community. Zero Waste Alliance (ACB) of Todos Santos and El Pescadero is a diverse and inclusive network that works across sectors to promote collaboration, influence policy and catalyze the transformation of the waste management systems of Todos Santos and El Pescadero. Their work is based on a shared vision of change and draws on the experience and knowledge of their network and the wider community.

ACB’s mission is to create Mexico’s first zero-waste tourism destination, dramatically improving local waste management systems and changing the relationship the community has with trash. The goal in doing so is to improve the health and well-being of the local communities, environment, and economy, and to contribute as a community to the global climate agenda.

Ultimately, ACB wants to be a united community that produces less waste, takes responsibility for what it does, and supports a circular economy where waste is reused by dynamic local businesses.

Advancing sustainable and regenerative tourism principles, Kind Traveler’s Every Stay Gives Back program creates a formalized, third-party validated giving program for hotels to mobilize funds to local destination-driven nonprofits with every guest stay. Kind Traveler verifies monthly donations and publishes a live ESGB dashboard to make it easy to communicate the importance and impact of the donations with measurable impact metrics. The dashboard also helps to empower travelers with education to learn how their travel dollars are being reinvested back into the communities they visit while also offering additional ways for guests to get further involved in a “How to Travel Kindly’ section of the dashboard. A $2 per stay community impact fee will go to Alianza Cero Basura.

Nearly 97% of travelers polled in Kind Traveler’s 2022 Impact Tourism Report want their travel dollars to make a positive impact in the communities they visit. The partnership between Los Colibris Casitas, Alianza Cero Basura, and Kind Traveler facilitates an easy pathway for travelers to make conscientious, responsible, and sustainable travel decisions that support the local community.

Some of our notable sustainability efforts include being completely single-use plastic free, 75% of the property is solar-powered, and we offset our carbon emissions through Neutral Together.
